Lora Reynolds Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new painted portraits by Jim Torok in the Project Room, opening alongside Colby Bird's 'Dust Breeds Contempt.' The exhibition, entitled 'Walton,' presents several, intimate and meticulous oil paintings depicting the artist's friends and neighbors in Walton, New York. The extended amount of time Torok has spent in this small upstate town amongst the community is evident in the amount of detail given to each subject.

Jim Torok was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1954. He currently lives and works in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Walton, New York with his wife, Mary Carlson. His work is included in many important private collections internationally, and has been shown in numerous exhibitions nationally. Torok's work has been acquired by many museums
including the Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
